Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Police report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered many other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Police say early analysis suggest the fluid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; investigators are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they stated.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.
A senior political figure said the incident left him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.
"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
